PITTSBURGH – Gatesman is pleased to welcome seasoned financial expert Jason Haag as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Haag brings more than two decades of experience to the position, which will include overseeing all financial and IT responsibilities for Gatesman’s Chicago and Pittsburgh locations. His appointment follows the retirement announcement of former Gatesman CFO Joe Reynolds who led the accounting department for the past several years.

“Jason is a fantastic addition to the Gatesman team, bringing vast experience in financial analysis and planning that will be essential as Gatesman continues to experience tremendous growth,” said John Gatesman, CEO. “His agency track record demonstrates his ability to swiftly adapt to market conditions and the ever changing dynamics of the marketing industry. We’re happy to have him on board, and grateful to his predecessor Joe Reynolds for leaving him big shoes to fill.”

Haag’s career spans more than 20 years, dating back to his early tenure in Deloitte’s tax department. He took on the position after graduating from Indiana University with a degree in accounting and finance. After sharpening his tax knowledge and financial skills here for six years, he joined Marc USA (now 9 Rooftops) in 2006 where he worked within the finance group. During his 15 years with the agency, Haag directed and helped lead the Finance and IT teams in all aspects of planning, decision support, operations, analysis, profitability strategies and reporting. His proven financial acumen has allowed teams under him to maneuver into new business models as industries have evolved – including throughout the progression of the pandemic. In his role as Gatesman CFO, Haag will lead all financial and IT functions for the agency.

“I am thrilled to begin the next chapter of my career at one of Pittsburgh’s most respected agencies,” said Haag. “I look forward to working with each department in the agency to streamline processes, gain efficiencies and further strengthen our financial position – which will benefit not only our business, but our clients as well.”

Gatesman also wishes to congratulate Joe Reynolds on his retirement and tremendous contributions to the agency. His career started with an MBA and grew into C-suite positions at manufacturers, distribution companies, banks and retail businesses including 30 years in advertising where he worked through mergers, acquisitions and the ever evolving changes of the industry. Joe’s retirement will allow for much deserved time spent with his family, including his new grandchild Charlie, as well as more time tending his beloved garden, his beehives and giving away tomatoes.

“On behalf of everyone at Gatesman, I want to thank Joe for the tremendous impact he’s had on our business over the past several years,” said Shannon Baker, president, Gatesman “His dedication, expertise and diligence were invaluable during the early days of the pandemic and we could not have navigated this period without him. We wish him a very happy retirement.”
