Gatesman Collected Four Skyline Top Accolades at the 2025 PRSA Skyline Awards on September 25, 2025
CHICAGO — Sept. 26, 2025 — Gatesman is celebrating another year of big impact at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chicago chapter’s annual Skyline Awards ceremony on Sept. 25, where the team went four for four earning the highest accolades for both client and agency work.
“It’s an incredible honor to see #TeamGatesman recognized once again by PRSA Chicago at the annual Skyline Awards,” said Beth Thompson, VP, director of public relations and social media. “These wins are a testament to the fierce creativity, relentless drive and deep collaboration that fuel our team every single day. I’m beyond proud of the bold ideas we bring forward, the passion we pour into our work and the powerful partnerships we’ve built with our clients who trust us to push new boundaries. This recognition isn’t just about awards—it’s proof of the momentum we’ve created and the pride we carry into what’s next.”
The Skyline Awards are Chicago’s premier public relations and communications awards competition, celebrating creativity and innovation in public relations and showcasing business impact and results.
A Skyline Award was presented in the Integrated Communications category for Gatesman’s work with National Vision, one of the nation’s largest optical retailers, as they partnered with Black-women-owned eyewear brand Vontélle on a limited-edition frame collection. The Official by Vontélle frames debuted in 900+ America’s Best stores and was Vontélle’s first with a national retailer, coinciding with Black History Month. Gatesman’s blend of paid and organic PR tactics helped make this collection one of the most successful launches America’s Best has had in recent years, including garnering coverage from Academy Award-winning actor, Ariana DeBose.
Gatesman also earned a Skyline Award in the Content Marketing category for its Ride Kind campaign executed on behalf of Pace Suburban Bus. The Ride Kind campaign aimed to humanize bus operators amid rising concerns about violence against transit workers. Using split-portrait photography and community-driven storytelling, the campaign reminded riders that those who operate public transit are community members just like every rider, and deserve to be treated as such. By blending traditional and non-traditional PR tactics, Ride Kind fostered a safer, more respectful transit environment while reinforcing community connection across Chicagoland.
A Skyline Award in the Influencer Marketing category was awarded for Gatesman’s influencer campaign executed on behalf of USG Corporation. With a goal to provide further support and entertainment for its established audience on social media, Gatesman strategically collaborated with multiple drywall influencers to create entertaining and informational videos that resonated with USG’s intended audience of contractors and installers.
In the Brand Content category, Gatesman received a Skyline Award for the agency’s “No Nametags,” podcast, which offers career insights without ego. Designed for first-time job seekers and career pivoters, “No Nametags” delivers expert tips, real-world advice and authentic guest stories. Episodes cover networking, client relations and handling feedback, empowering listeners to thrive professionally. Now in season 2, “No Nametags” has gained global reach and thousands of downloads and streams.
