PITTSBURGH – As the spring semester kicks into full-gear, ambitious college students are on the hunt for internships that will set them apart from their peers. That’s why Gatesman, one of the nation’s fastest-growing, full-service agencies, created the Brandtern Experience.

Not only does this internship provide the opportunity to produce real work for Gatesman’s wide range of clients, interns will also complete the annual Brandtern Project. Brandterns function as their own mini-agency, working together to craft, pitch and implement a full campaign by the end of the summer. The Brandtern Project, combined with rigorous and rewarding client work, allows students to get a taste of the marketing world while also building their skills and portfolio.

Students should apply for the Brandtern Experience through the Gatesman website. The core Brandtern program is offered at Gatesman’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, but internship opportunities are also available at Gatesman’s Chicago office. How the Brandtern Experience Works:
The best and brightest Brandtern applicants are invited to participate in the Limelight interview, a Shark Tank-style personal pitch to the Gatesman management team. If their pitch impresses, applicants will interview with individual members of the agency. Those chosen to become Brandterns will be contacted by April 16, 2018.

Brandterns should apply for tracks within any of the agency’s departments, including digital, graphic design, copywriting, PR/social, account management, project management, account planning and media. To learn more about the departments, visit gatesmanagency.com/expertise.

The program is highly competitive, receiving more than 400 applications in 2017, so students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Previous Brandterns have gone on to full-time positions at the agency and have earned scholarships from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Foundation.
