PITTSBURGH – Gatesman’s work with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership was brought to the big stage at the organization’s Annual Meeting today, where its new marketing campaign, “Everything Points You Here” was officially unveiled.
The unveiling was months in the making. Shortly after Gatesman made its own move to its Downtown office in the spring of 2018, the agency learned of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s interest in telling the story of “Why Downtown?” The question was posed in response to needs identified by Downtown property owners through a stakeholder engagement initiative that was conducted in late 2017. Armed with personal insight, the Gatesman team began considerable research about what makes Downtown appealing, as well as why some companies were passing it by. Guided by data, Gatesman began a creative process to evolve the narrative of Downtown.
“Our ability to rely not only on research but on personal, invested experience made Gatesman uniquely prepared to undertake this campaign,” said Shannon Baker, president, Gatesman. “Before making the move Downtown, we looked at many surrounding neighborhoods and found that our employees, as well as many of our clients, would be best served with a Downtown location. Those instincts were right on the money. Our agency is thriving in this location.”
From culture and dining to sports and celebrations, Downtown is where everything comes together to create opportunity, growth and engagement. “Everything Points You Here” highlights these unique aspects of the Downtown experience in an effort to entice start-up, tech, creative and other new companies to come to the Central Business District.
“Each member of our team is living and breathing the story we’re telling through this campaign,” said Julie Allard, EVP, executive creative director. “As members of the Downtown business community, it’s a passion project for us. We’re eager to see the city’s feedback and continue adapting our creative as the campaign evolves in the coming months.”
Everything Points You Here is a long-term initiative and will be updated with new creative assets and messages, allowing the campaign to respond to results and feedback from the Central Business District. The multi-faceted campaign includes traditional advertising in local business media, targeted digital campaigns and outdoor tactics, as well as influencer activations and strategic counsel on media relations.
